UNSA announces competition for enrollment of 6,909 students in the first cycle and integrated study

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The University of Sarajevo has published a competition for student enrollment in the academic year 2018/2019, allowing the enrollment of 6,909 students in the first cycle and integrated study, 4,219 students in the second cycle of study, and 150 candidates in professional study – across more than 500 study programs.

- Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and foreign nationals who have completed a four-year secondary school in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as candidates who completed secondary school outside Bosnia and Herzegovina and for whom, after the recognition or equivalence procedure, it has been determined that they have completed adequate education for continuing their studies, have the right to participate in the competition for enrollment in the first cycle, integrated study, and professional study under equal conditions.

- Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and foreign nationals who have completed an appropriate first cycle of study valued at least 180 or 240 (E)CTS study points, candidates who completed their studies according to pre-Bologna curricula in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as candidates who completed the first cycle or pre-Bologna study outside Bosnia and Herzegovina and for whom, after the recognition or equivalence procedure, it has been determined that they have completed adequate education for continuing their studies, have the right to participate in the competition for enrollment in the second cycle of study under equal conditions.

- Candidates who completed secondary school outside Bosnia and Herzegovina have the right to participate in the competition even before the recognition or equivalence of the secondary school diploma obtained abroad has been carried out.

Candidates who completed secondary school according to international programs approved by the competent ministry, and whose international external exam results are published in August or September, must be included by the organizational unit in the enrollment procedure even before the proof of passed external exam is issued. The scoring of these candidates' achievements is based on forecast grades for the external exam.

For applications to the competition for enrollment in the first year of study, candidates submit original or certified copies of documents. In the academic year 2018/2019, future students will be able to apply to the competition by submitting documents to multiple faculties or academies of the University of Sarajevo (UNSA). If a graduate is accepted to multiple faculties or academies, they will decide where they wish to study.

Multiple application/enrollment deadlines are enabled. Faculties and academies will provide complete information on their websites/notice boards about the place and time for submitting documents for application or enrollment deadlines.

All of the above allows candidates a wider choice when applying to their desired faculty/faculties.       

- Children of martyrs and fallen defenders, and children without both parents are exempt from the obligation to pay the enrollment fee. Accepted candidates from the category of children of martyrs and fallen soldiers, children of war military invalids, children of recipients of war recognitions and decorations, and children without both parents are exempt from paying tuition fees. In cooperation with the founder, the University of Sarajevo thus provides scholarships to about 1,500 students, which in monetary terms amounts to more than 1,000,000 KM – announced by the University of Sarajevo.
