UNSA promotes Monograph 'Art Collection of the Rectorate of the University of Sarajevo'

(Patria) - On Monday, December 11, 2023, at 6:00 PM at the Art Gallery of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as part of the Festive December Days and the celebration of the 74th anniversary of the University of Sarajevo, a promotion of the rich artistic heritage of the University of Sarajevo will be held, along with the presentation of the monograph "Art Collection of the Rectorate of the University of Sarajevo" and an exhibition of artworks from the Rectorate of the University of Sarajevo.

Over the past seventy-four years, the University of Sarajevo has proudly collected and preserved an invaluable collection of artworks. This collection has become a symbol of lasting cooperation and a memory of the most significant moments in the history of our institution.

The monograph brings together 71 artworks, signed by 49 authors from various artistic periods. The collection encompasses a wide range of artistic expressions, from drawings, paintings, and graphics to sculptures. The works originate from artists who created between the two world wars up to contemporary authors, and among them stand out old masters such as Tomislav Krizman, whose work "Procession" was created as early as 1909, as well as other greats of the 20th century like Ismet Mujezinović, Roman Petrović, Ljubo Lah, Mersad Berber, Mica Todorović, Alija Kučukalić, Mirsad Konstantinović, Franjo Likar, and Salim Obralić.

The promotion of this significant monograph and the exhibition of selected artworks will be opened by the Rector of the University of Sarajevo, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj. The monograph will be presented by promoters: Dr. Ibrahim Krzović, Professor Emeritus (Academy of Fine Arts, University of Sarajevo) – reviewer, Prof. Dr. Asja Mandić (Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo) – reviewer, Dr. Merima Omeragić (Rectorate of the University of Sarajevo) – reviewer, and Mr. Adela Nurković Kulenović (Rectorate of the University of Sarajevo) – editor of the Monograph.
