University of Sarajevo bids farewell to Prof. Dr. Željko Šain

(Patria) - The Faculty of Economics of the University of Sarajevo has informed the public about the date of the funeral and memorial service for Professor Emeritus, Prof. Dr. Željko Šain, one of the most prominent members of the academic community in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The memorial service will be held on June 30, 2025, starting at 11:30 AM, at the Rectorate of the University of Sarajevo, and the funeral on the same day at 1:45 PM at the "Bare" city cemetery.

"With deep sorrow and sincere respect, we inform the academic and wider public that Professor Emeritus, Prof. Dr. Željko Šain, has left us.

With the departure of Prof. Dr. Željko Šain, the University of Sarajevo - Faculty of Economics has lost a true academic giant, and our country a respected intellectual and a man of high moral values.
His dedication to knowledge, science, and the development of institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina has left a deep mark on the academic community and society as a whole.

On behalf of the Management, professors, associates, students, and all employees of the Faculty, we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.
