UNDP implements "Green Economic Development" project in BiH

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in cooperation with the Environmental Protection Fund of the Federation of BiH and the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund of the Republika Srpska, and with financial assistance from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is implementing a project in the field of energy efficiency called GED – Green Economic Development, reports the Patria news agency.

The project aims to reduce the spending of public funds on energy and water consumption, and to enable favorable conditions for investment in infrastructure energy efficiency measures, while simultaneously creating "green jobs".

On this occasion, UNDP, in cooperation with partners, is organizing on Monday, July 20, an educational and entertaining event called "Like for Smart Energy" in front of the BBI Center in Sarajevo.

At this event, all visitors will have the opportunity to learn how they can save electricity and contribute to creating energy sustainability, as raising public awareness about more responsible energy use is of great importance for future economic and social development.

Professor Atom, the mascot of this project, will share expert advice and educational brochures on environmental protection, money saving, and energy sustainability. The youngest visitors and their parents will have the chance to participate in a quiz and win numerous prizes.
