Art performance "We were refugees too"

In cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton, the art performance “We were refugees too” will be presented with the aim of collecting aid for refugees from Middle Eastern countries, reports the Patria News Agency.

As part of the art performance, a sales exhibition by BiH artists Sulejman Mema Haljevac and Amar Ajdinović will also be held. All funds collected from sales will be donated to the Association “Pomozi.ba”.

The idea is international and involves artists from the region, and specifically from BiH, they are: Suada Ahmetašević, Amar Ajdinović, Sulejman Haljevac, Nadžija Haljevac, Izudin Alečković, Almir Hukelić, and many others.

- This project was initiated by our academic painter Sulejman Haljevac, who came up with the idea to try to raise funds in this way as well, to help refugees from Middle Eastern countries. In our recent past, we ourselves were in the same or a similar position, so the least we can do is make ourselves available to these people and help them as much as we can - the Association stated.  

In the past period, this Association delivered 40 tons of aid to refugees from Middle Eastern countries located in the Belgrade area, and part of this aid included 24 thousand liters of water, which these people desperately need. The Association “Pomozi.ba” continues the project of helping refugees currently located in neighboring countries, and in the near future, they plan to organize another visit, this time with medical and healthcare assistance.
