Instead of Bosnian, in Grapska too, students have Bosniak language entered in their report cards

Authorities in the BiH entity of Republika Srpska are sharply violating the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as they do not allow Bosniak returnees to learn their mother tongue Bosnian, which is one of the three official languages in BiH, guaranteed by the Constitution, warn numerous non-governmental organizations in the country, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

After Kotorsko, parents of children from Grapska near Doboj also refused to collect school report cards for their children because instead of “Bosnian language” they have Bosniak language entered.

In the report cards of elementary school students in the RS for the first semester, Bosnian language is entered, but in the second semester it is crossed out and replaced by hand with Bosniak language.

The director of the elementary school “Vuk Stefanović Karadžić” from Doboj, Milan Gojković, to which the branch school in Grapska belongs, told reporters that he works according to instructions and in accordance with the law of Republika Srpska, but did not reveal who gives him instructions that violate the basic human rights of Bosniaks in this part of BiH.

The elementary school from first to fifth grade in Grapska is attended by about 50 Bosniak students. It is a place where during the bloody conflicts of 1992, about 100 Bosniaks were killed, and hundreds of them went through notorious camps where they were tortured.

Representatives of returnees assess the disrespect of basic human rights as intimidation and pressure on returnees, that is, a desire for an ethnically clean Republika Srpska, but also a diversion of public attention from economic problems in the RS.

Parents of elementary school students from sixth to eighth grade of the branch elementary school “Milan Rakić” in the settlement of Kotorsko refused on June 23 to collect certificates of completed grade for the same reason. For several years now, the agony of parents from Konjević Polje and Vrbanjci in Kotor Varoš has also been ongoing, where the RS authorities abolished the national group of subjects, writes NAP.
