Entry of foreigners and further opening of schools pose a risk of coronavirus spread

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - As of today, BiH borders are open for the entry of all foreign nationals, and except for those who do not need a negative PCR test (citizens of BiH and citizens of Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, as well as special categories), all other foreigners need a negative test no older than 48 hours prior to entering BiH.

The opening of borders will certainly entail a certain risk when it comes to the coronavirus. Therefore, the Federal Crisis Staff reiterated the recommendations for all those entering BiH within a 14-day period.

In addition to the obligation to wear a protective mask, special attention should be paid to maintaining hygiene, keeping distance, and avoiding gatherings.

"Do not use public transport and avoid gatherings. Maintain a physical distance of 2 meters. If you have business meetings, limit the number of participants and ensure physical distance," the recommendations state.

Special attention should be paid to symptoms such as elevated temperature, cough, difficulty breathing, fever, sore throat, muscle pain.

"In case of symptoms, foreign nationals should inform hotel staff or the meeting organizer."

The Crisis Staff notes that if symptoms do not appear within 14 days, the person is no longer considered at risk of developing Covid 19.

Also, starting next week in KS, the return of a larger number of students to school desks is planned (primary schools from 5th to 9th grade and 1st and 4th grades of secondary schools), which also carries a certain risk of coronavirus spread. Although a combined model will still be in practice (a week of school - a week of online classes), there will be greater fluctuation of students in schools and public transport.

The Ministry of Education has prepared the Instructions on the organization and realization of educational work in primary and secondary schools in the KS area for the 2020/2021 school year, and the Guidelines for the prevention and control of COVID-19 infection in primary and secondary schools in KS issued by the KS Public Health Institute.
