David Dragičević Buried: No Forgiveness or Forgetfulness

VIENNA, (Patria) – A sad procession of several hundred people attended the burial of the remains of the murdered young man David Dragičević at a cemetery near Vienna today. Prior to that, a religious ceremony was held in a nearby chapel.

The remains were exhumed on March 12 from the New Cemetery in Banja Luka, and according to the decision of parents Suzana Radanović and Davor Dragičević, the burial took place in Austria today. Numerous members of Justice for David who came from Banja Luka, and the family of the murdered young man Dženan Memić, provided support to the family. They bid farewell to him, carrying David's pictures and banners.

"There is no forgiveness or forgetfulness," said father Davor Dragičević.

Justice for David, justice for all children, justice for Dženan, parents will never be alone, chanted the crowd.

In a fitting manner, with silence, a bow, and leaving flowers, they bid farewell to the young man whose death has not been clarified almost a year after his murder.

The Memić family, on their behalf and on behalf of the family of lawyer Ifet Feraget, laid a wreath on David's grave.

The burial of David Dragičević was attended by the High Representative in BiH Valentin Inzko. As announced by the OHR, Inzko was there out of a sincere, human need to share the pain with David's family and closest friends.

“I wish to express my deepest condolences to the parents of the late David. As a parent, a human being, and a Christian, I hope that David's soul will finally rest in peace and in paradise. Truth and justice always find their way, and I am convinced that will be the case now. According to the Gospel of John and Christ's words, 'the truth will set you free.' I deeply believe in those words. Rest in peace, David.”
