Old paving stones removed in Štrosmajerova Street

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Rehabilitation of the pedestrian zone in Štrosmajerova Street – from the junction with Ferhadija Street to the intersection with Zelenih beretki Street, began on Saturday, September 14, and today the old concrete blocks have already been removed.

As previously done in Ferhadija, Sarači, Bravadžiluk and Baščaršijski trg streets, the work in Štrosmajerova Street will include reconstruction of the water supply network, solving the storm drainage system, laying a reinforced concrete base, and then new paving.

The Mayor of the Stari Grad Municipality, Ibrahim Hadžibajrić, said that after the Ferhadija renovation project, it was the turn of Štrosmajerova Street.

The municipality is implementing this project with the Directorate for Roads of Sarajevo Canton, and the value of the works is 550,000 KM.

According to information from the competent service, work will be carried out on an area of 1,100 m2, and the works will be performed in such a way that pedestrian traffic flows smoothly on one side of the street.

Funds for the rehabilitation of Štrosmajerova Street were secured based on an Agreement concluded between the Stari Grad Municipality and the Directorate for Roads of Sarajevo Canton.
