Remove migrants from 'Miral' and 'Bira' and find adequate accommodation

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - "A request has been sent to abolish the Miral and Bira centers and establish new ones outside populated areas," said BiH Security Minister Dragan Mektić after a meeting with representatives of the Una-Sana Canton, where the migrant situation in that part of the country was discussed.

Thousands of migrants have been staying in Krajina for months, while local authorities warn that adequate state assistance is lacking, which endangers both the local population and the migrants themselves. 

Šuhret Fazlić, the mayor of Bihać, said that there are currently about 4,800 migrants in the Una-Sana Canton.

"We are doing everything so that neither citizens nor migrants suffer," said Fazlić.
