Removal of aerial bomb from the Sava River

The removal of an aerial bomb from under the bridge on the Sava River in the municipality of Bosanski Brod will be carried out tomorrow, August 9, 2017, starting at 11:00 AM. It is a bomb from World War II, located in the Sava River at a depth of three meters.

This complex operation will be carried out by divers from the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic, with whom the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been successfully cooperating since 2015 on the removal of unexploded ordnance from waterways, and with the support of the demining and diving team of the Republican Civil Protection Administration of Republika Srpska.

For security reasons, movement within a 200-meter radius of the bomb's location will be prohibited from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, or until the completion of the planned activities, which includes the border crossing and the bridge between Brod and Slavonski Brod.

The Ministry of Security of BiH coordinated the implementation of security measures with the State Administration for Protection and Rescue of the Republic of Croatia, the Ministry of Communications and Transport of BiH, and the BiH Border Police.
