Parliamentary representatives' lump-sum payments of 580 KM abolished

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - After several hours of heated debate among representatives at the KS Assembly session, the Bill on Salaries and Allowances in the KS Authorities was adopted, abolishing the lump-sum payment of 580 KM for professional representatives. 22 representatives voted in favour, and eight abstained.

Numerous objections were raised by the representatives themselves, claiming that no savings of one million KM, which is the amount for a four-year term, would be achieved.

Representatives of the SDA Club requested that, along with the abolition of lump-sum payments, ministers' salaries be reduced by 300 KM, but the majority of representatives did not adopt this conclusion, so they abstained during the vote.
