All emergency measures lifted in Sarajevo Canton

(Patria) - The Alert and Warning episodes, as well as all emergency measures that were in force in recent days due to air pollution, have been lifted in Sarajevo Canton.

The decision to lift the Alert, which had been declared for five municipalities, was made by the KS Government, and the decision to lift the Warning for the entire Canton area was made by the relevant cantonal ministry, based on the report of the Expert Body.

Air quality has significantly improved since this morning due to the wind that cleared the Sarajevo valley during the past night.

During the day, the values of polluting PM10 particles have drastically decreased in the area of Ilijaš as well, where the air was most polluted in the past 24 hours.

According to the latest measurements at 4 PM at all cantonal measuring stations, the values of this pollutant are low and range from six to 17 micrograms per cubic meter of particles.

Mostly cloudy weather is forecast for the coming days, with variable wind intensity and possible temperature inversions.

Due to such weather conditions, there will be fluctuations in air quality.
