Episode "Alert" in Sarajevo Canton abolished

(Patria) - Given the trends of decreasing air pollutants, as well as forecasted unstable weather conditions, the Expert Body for Coordination and Monitoring of the Ministry of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection of KS, in accordance with the provisions of the Plan of Intervention Measures in Cases of Excessive Air Pollution, has abolished the "Alert" episode in all zones in the Sarajevo Canton.

The "Alert" episode was declared on December 20 this year, and since then the values of pollutants, especially PM10 particles, have varied significantly, ranging from permissible during the day to increased in the morning and night hours, due to the occurrence of temperature inversion.

Occasionally, SO2 parameters were increased in the municipality of Ilijaš and H2S in the territory of Ilidža.

Today, the air quality index is good, and according to the synoptic forecast of the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute, precipitation is expected in the Sarajevo Canton in the next three days, as well as moderate winds, with occasional strong gusts, which will contribute to maintaining a favorable situation.

In accordance with the Plan of Intervention Measures, the Expert Body will continue to continuously monitor the air quality and meteorological conditions, and will promptly inform the public about all of this.
