The Cantonal Court in Sarajevo has revoked the Interpol red notice against Lejla Fazlagić, a former judge of the Municipal Court in Sarajevo who has been on the run for the past eight years, Istraga.ba has learned.
The fugitive former judge has been living in Croatia for years, and the authorities of that country have refused to extradite her to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
As we have learned, the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo revoked the detention of Lejla Fazlagić about twenty days ago, after which the red notice was also revoked. The court, at the proposal of the former judge's defense, ordered bail instead of detention, so that, according to Istraga's information, Lejla Fazlagić should soon return to BiH, where she would be placed under house arrest.
We tried to get a comment from Lejla Fazlagić herself today. She is currently near Makarska. However, she refused to comment on anything related to the case.
Let us recall, in November 2016, a warrant was issued for Lejla Fazlagić. An indictment against her was filed in 2018 after she was examined in Rijeka.
The Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Sarajevo charges Lejla Fazlagić-Pašić with being a member of an organized criminal group led by the accused Alija Delimustafić from 2009 to 2016.
"Thus, in the fabricated court proceedings conducted by Judge Lejla Fazlagić-Pašić, properties of deceased persons were registered to group members and relatives, and then they were sold to third parties by concluding contracts. By committing the aforementioned criminal offenses as an organized group, they acquired illegal property gain in the amount of more than 10 million marks," the Prosecutor's Office of the Sarajevo Canton stated at the time.
Given that she was unavailable to the BiH judiciary, Lejla Fazlagić's case was separated from the others in the Pravda case – i.e., Alija Delimustafić and others.
