Uk on leptospirosis: No reason for panic

(Patria) - Health institutions of Sarajevo Canton (KS) are monitoring the situation regarding the occurrence of leptospirosis and have taken all necessary measures.

The situation is under control, there is no reason for panic, but it is important that we all act responsibly and follow the instructions of experts, announced the Prime Minister of KS Nihad Uk on his Facebook profile today.

"In order to prevent, we ask you to:

• avoid contact with contaminated water and mud, especially after floods,

• do not consume food and water that is not health-safe,

• wear protective equipment (rubber boots and gloves) when cleaning flooded areas,

• disinfect rooms and surfaces that were under water,

• do not leave waste and food scraps that can attract rodents.
