UK and Schmidt discussed traffic and projects to improve air quality

(Patria) - Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton Nihad Uk met today with High Representative Christian Schmidt to discuss important topics for both Sarajevo Canton and BiH.

Among other things, the High Representative recognized the significant progress made by Sarajevo Canton in improving its public transport system, thereby contributing to greater satisfaction among public transport users, as well as to the improvement of ecological conditions.

In this regard, discussions also covered projects that the KS Government is implementing to improve air quality in KS, and Prime Minister Uk listed numerous projects that are currently in preparation or being implemented, related to reducing harmful emissions in KS.

These include energy efficiency projects, replacement of fossil fuel furnaces, procurement of electric buses, preparation of a project to subsidize taxi drivers who decide to purchase a hybrid or electric vehicle, electrification of the Sarajevo Canton vehicle fleet...

The meeting concluded in a positive and optimistic spirit, with both sides expressing their will and readiness to improve the societal situation in Sarajevo Canton, with a reflection on BiH, announced the KS Protocol and Press Service.
