Uk: If the FBiH Government miraculously returns 100 million KM from revenue distribution to us, we will consider paying aid under the Decree

(Patria) – The Government of Sarajevo Canton did not plan to pay aid to public sector employees in the Sarajevo Canton according to the Decree adopted by the FBiH Government. According to this Decree, workers can be paid a maximum amount of 2,520 KM.

This information was confirmed to Patria by the Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton, Nihad Uk.

He noted that a higher base and coefficients were agreed upon through collective branch agreements.

"Payment of this type of aid is not planned. If the FBiH Government miraculously returns the 100 million KM we are deprived of through revenue distribution to the Sarajevo Canton, then we would have room to discuss this," said Uk.

The FBiH Government made a decision to pay aid to budget users, except for elected and appointed officials.

Although they claimed that workers with minimum wage would benefit the most from this aid, and that with a six-month tranche of 420 KM each, which is the prescribed amount of aid, their salary would be 1,016 KM, there are still no announcements from employers about mass payment of aid to workers.

The Decree of the FBiH Government is not binding, and therefore employers are not obliged to make the payment if they do not wish to.

For now, only announcements of payment for budget users can be heard.
