UIO clarifies: New GP Gradiška allows transit of passengers and goods subject to inspection

(Patria) - The Indirect Taxation Authority has again commented on the opening of the Gradiška Border Crossing, stating that the UIO has not opened a new temporary border crossing, but has temporarily relocated the existing GP Gradiška to a new location by decision.

"This had to be done due to damage to the bridge over the Sava River, which has suspended the international transit of passengers and goods. The Gradiška Border Crossing will operate at the temporary location from 19.05.2026 to 19.08.2026 in the same way it operated at the previous location in accordance with the Agreement on Border Crossings between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia, as a border crossing where international transit of passengers and goods requiring full inspection is permitted.

All customs procedures will be carried out using the existing code of the Gradiška Border Crossing, the use of the official stamp of the Gradiška Border Crossing, the use of IT applications, and with the work of customs officers who normally work at the Gradiška Border Crossing," the UIO clarified.

We remind you that the decision to open the new GP Gradiška was made by Ivica Bošnjak, Deputy Minister of Security of BiH, who is heading the Ministry since the arrest of former minister Nenad Nešić.
