ITA: Cigarettes and Cut Tobacco Worth 58,000 BAM Seized

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Officers of the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA) in two separate operations seized cigarettes and cut tobacco worth 58,000 BAM.

ITA officers from the Groups for the Prevention of Smuggling and Offences, RC Tuzla, found a larger quantity of cigarettes and cut tobacco with five individuals, which was not marked in the prescribed manner with excise stamps issued by the ITA, nor was there documentation on the origin of the goods.
This involves 3,511 packs of cigarettes, 117 kg of finely cut tobacco, and 510 packs of hand-rolled cigarettes.
In another separate operation in the area covered by RC Tuzla, officers of the Group for the Prevention of Smuggling and Offences found and seized a larger quantity of goods of foreign origin
of various brands from an individual, for which they did not possess appropriate documentation regarding the origin of the goods.
Against the individuals with whom the aforementioned excise goods were found and seized, a Report on the committed criminal offense will be submitted to the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that a criminal offense has been committed.
The total value of the temporarily seized goods is estimated at 58,000 BAM.
