Due to falsehoods, general statements, and unverified information presented to the public by Member of Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ms. Aleksandra Pandurević, which damage the reputation of the Indirect Taxation Authority, in order to protect the dignity of this institution, we inform the public that this Authority, led by Director Dr. Miro Džakula, will file a lawsuit against the said person with the competent court, it was announced from the UIO BiH, reports the BH News Agency Patria.
Ms. Aleksandra Pandurević stated that "it is obvious that the previously established robbery through the UIO continued after the departure of Kemal Čaušević. The actors are the same, only the director has changed", which was published in the media on March 9 and 10, 2015, in the context of the story about the construction of the new Gradiška border crossing.
This kind of inaccurate informing of the public aims to discredit the reputation of the Authority and minimize its work by presenting this Authority as a criminal institution. The deliberate use of the UIO for daily political conflicts between members of different political parties, as well as for the personal promotion of MPs, causes irreparable damage and harms the reputation of the UIO and its employees, which can have a negative impact on the UIO's work results.
For the complete and accurate informing of the public, we point out that all actions taken so far regarding the construction of the Gradiška border crossing were undertaken by the UIO in accordance with the Decision of the Council of Ministers of BiH on multi-year capital investments for the period 2012-2017. Based on this, a total of 9.2 million KM was approved in 2012 for the construction of the Gradiška border crossing, an additional 5 million KM in 2015, also 5 million KM in 2016, and 5.8 million KM in 2017. Approved funds are adopted within the UIO budget for the years to which they relate and go through parliamentary procedure. Given the obligation to realize the approved budget funds, as well as the UIO's jurisdiction for the construction and maintenance of border crossings in accordance with the Law on Public Procurement, a procedure was carried out for the implementation of the first phase for the construction of the Gradiška border crossing, and the most favorable bidder was selected.
We emphasize that in all activities carried out so far, the UIO has acted in accordance with its legally established jurisdiction and the decision of the Council of Ministers of BiH, and the attacks directed at the UIO in this case are completely unfounded and tendentious, for which reason this Authority will take action to protect its reputation before the competent judicial institutions.
