IOU BiH seizes textiles and jewelry worth almost 200,000 BAM

(Patria) - Authorized officers of the Indirect Taxation Authority (IOU) of BiH in the area of the Tuzla regional center temporarily seized a larger quantity of gold and silver jewelry, as well as textile products.

The total value of the temporarily seized goods is estimated at around 194,500 BAM.

Control activities in the field were carried out on five sole proprietors, where it was determined that there was no documentation of origin for a certain quantity of gold and silver jewelry.

A larger quantity of jewelry was seized on that occasion, the market value of which is estimated at 137,200 BAM.

In addition to officers from the IOU's Smuggling and Offenses Prevention Group, officers from the Tax Administration of the Federation from the cantonal office in Tuzla also participated.

In the operational action "Transit", authorized IOU officers conducted a detailed inspection and search of a freight motor vehicle, all in accordance with the instructions and directives of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and the order of the Court of BiH.

In addition to the regular shipment, where there were also regularly declared goods, hidden and smuggled goods were found.

On that occasion, 735 pieces of textile products (tracksuits, t-shirts, jeans) intended for the black market of Bosnia and Herzegovina were temporarily seized, and their market value is estimated at 57,300 BAM.

A Report on the committed criminal offense and perpetrator will be filed against the suspect to the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that the criminal offense of "Smuggling" from Article 214 of the Criminal Code of BiH has been committed.
