ENDANGERING THE INVESTIGATION Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton: We will determine how the tram accident footage ended up in public

(Patria) - The Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton considers it inappropriate and condemns the publication on web portals of data in the form of video recordings of the traffic accident from 02/12/2026, which the Prosecutor's Office and law enforcement agencies obtained during the investigation.

"The disclosure of parts of the prosecutorial file endangers the investigation and negatively affects cooperation with foreign partners with whom the Prosecutor's Office is actively communicating to gather evidence.

The disclosure of video recordings does not contribute to the successful conduct of criminal proceedings, nor to the protection of the integrity of the investigation.

As before, the Prosecutor's Office will, through official communication channels, inform the public at an appropriate time about the progress and results of the investigation.

Video recordings provided to the Prosecutor's Office for the purposes of the investigation by diplomatic-consular missions of foreign countries enjoy inviolability in accordance with international law, and therefore their publication could cause diplomatic and legal consequences.

In accordance with the aforementioned, the Prosecutor's Office will undertake activities to determine the circumstances under which the mentioned recordings ended up in public," the Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton announced.
