The Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Ankica Gudeljević and the Head of the UNICEF Representative Office in BiH Rownak Khan signed a Memorandum of Understanding for procurement services between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and UNICEF today in Sarajevo.
By signing this memorandum, the necessary conditions are met for cooperation between BiH and UNICEF regarding logistical support for the procurement and transport of COVID-19 vaccines to the entrance of BiH. UNICEF is also the authorized logistical coordinator for all countries participating in the COVAX mechanism.
The memorandum creates the necessary international framework for the procurement of other medicines, medical equipment, and medical supplies, both for COVID-19 and for other viral diseases.
Through the intermediary role of UNICEF with suppliers and manufacturers, Bosnia and Herzegovina is guaranteed that everything it procures through UNICEF will be obtained in compliance with the necessary quality standards and at a price adjusted for Bosnia and Herzegovina, it was announced from the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH.
