Ugljanin: This is the beginning of the unification of Bosniaks in Sandžak

The president of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) in Sandžak, Sulejman Ugljanin, told the BH news agency Patria (NAP) that the party, with three or four mandates won in the Parliament of Serbia, achieved the best result since 2003.

However, as the leader of the SDA in Sandžak, he is happy, he told NAP, because of another important fact, which is that the unity of Bosniaks is reawakening in Sandžak, which the voters confirmed in yesterday's early elections in Serbia.

- The SDA ran independently in these early elections, without a coalition. The people recognized this as the renewed beginning of the political, as well as every other, unification of Bosniaks in Sandžak – Ugljanin told NAP.

He added that he hopes that the disunity of Bosniaks in Serbia among several political parties, two or three religious communities, two national councils... is now a thing of the past.

Unity and harmony among Bosniaks in Serbia are very important for the whole of Serbia, Ugljanin said, because it is precisely this people who have greatly helped Serbia on its path towards the European Union. He also added that the modern, scientific concept of sustainable development that the SDA has been implementing in Sandžak in recent years can be a solution to the economic problems of the entire country.

Commenting on the absolute victory of Aleksandar Vučić, Ugljanin said that it could be a big step for the entire region.

- Vučić has clearly shown his determination for Serbia to move towards Europe. Therefore, his victory also means an extraordinary opportunity for a great synergy of the common European path of BiH and Serbia. And Bosniaks in Serbia are precisely that bridge between Serbia and BiH. Vučić now has absolute power, but also responsibility. When milk burns for a woman, she needs to solve that problem. People see it that way. They give you power, but they also demand responsibility – said Ugljanin.

He added that if Serbia continues to work with the intensity it has so far, i.e., continues to follow the European path it has embarked on, Dodik's rumors about the secession of Republika Srpska from BiH will soon subside.

- If we continue to work with this intensity, everything will fall into place. Europe erases borders, it does not create them. All those who try to destabilize Serbia and try to stop it on its path to the EU will face opponents in Serbia – Ugljanin told NAP.
