Victims' associations support BHRT in preserving independent media space in BiH

(Patria) - On the occasion of the continuous work of Bosnian-Herzegovinian Radio Television (BHRT), especially its traditional live broadcast of the commemoration of the genocide in Srebrenica, the Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide and the "Movement of Mothers of the Enclaves of Srebrenica and Žepa" association have expressed their full support and solidarity with this public RTV service in its fight for survival and preservation of the quality of the media space in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

BHRT, as a key source of information, entertainment, and education for citizens, represents the foundation of democracy and media freedom in our country. Its commitment to objective reporting, cultural programming, and the promotion of social responsibility is of invaluable importance to the community.

"In times of challenges, we emphasize the importance of rallying around a common goal – preserving independent and professional journalism. We believe that BHRT's courage and resilience will overcome all obstacles and that this media house will continue to serve as the voice of all citizens.

Given the complex constitutional setup of Bosnia and Herzegovina, established by the Dayton Peace Agreement, and the obvious attempts by certain political structures to extinguish everything that reminds of a unified BiH, we call upon the High Representative in BiH, Mr. Christian Schmidt, to, within his powers, take all necessary measures to preserve BHRT.
