Association of Victims Writes to Kajganić: Remove Cases from Regional Prosecutors and Solve Murders of Returnees in RS

(Patria) - The Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide has requested from the Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, Milanko Kajganić, that the judicial institution he heads remove cases from the regional prosecutor's offices in the RS, continue the investigation, and possibly indict those responsible for a series of unresolved murders that occurred in the smaller BiH entity.

From the Association, they listed the names of murdered returnees in the RS:

- Rizah Okić, Ibrahim Osmanović and Enver Dubinović - killed in April 1996 in Sjenina near Doboj, investigation is ongoing against unknown perpetrators;

- Meliha Durić, killed in Vlasenica, investigation is ongoing against unknown perpetrators;

- Sejfo Ahmetović, killed in Glogova near Bratunac, investigation is ongoing against unknown perpetrators;

- Hazim Čajlaković and Rasim Bilalić, killed in Laze near Teočak, investigation is ongoing against unknown perpetrators;

- Muradif Alić, killed in Mahala near Osmaci, investigation is ongoing against unknown perpetrators;

- Meša Arnautović, killed in the place of Gajeva near Lopare, investigation is ongoing against unknown perpetrators;

- Murat Badić, killed in 2002 in Banja Luka, investigation is ongoing;

- Paša Mustafić, killed in 2005 in the settlement of Pećišta near Potočari, investigation is ongoing against unknown perpetrators;

- Muharem Balić and Almir Redžić, killed in July 2014 in Trnopolje near Prijedor.

"Given that more than 15 years have passed since the murder of returnees in the RS, and that no murder has received a judicial epilogue in which the perpetrators would be punished, it has become obvious that the competent regional prosecutor's offices are not able to find the killers.

We request that the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in accordance with the Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure Code of BiH, take over the cases and continue the investigation, and possibly indict those responsible," reads the open letter addressed to Chief Prosecutor Kajganić, signed by the President of the Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide, Murat Tahirović.
