Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide: We Call on the PIC to Support the Victims' Right to Truth

By convening a session of the Peace Implementation Council (PIC) on the occasion of the submission of Bosnia and Herzegovina's request for a Revision before the International Court of Justice, Russia once again confirms that it is against the international order that ensures victims' right to justice and truth, the Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide stated, as reported by Patria.

- The Russian veto in the UN Security Council, cast on a proposed resolution that would condemn the genocide in Srebrenica, at the request of Serbia, was a VETO against humanity and civilization, and against the internationally established truth before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY). Today, Russia again seeks to impose a kind of VETO by abusing the PIC and intervening on behalf of Serbia.

We call on the other PIC members and their representatives to support the victims' right to seek justice and truth before the International Court of Justice. In proceedings concerning violations of international humanitarian law before courts, victims are represented by state representatives, representatives of the international community, and the states themselves that conduct proceedings against individuals, groups, organizations, and states.

It is hypocritical to say that victims have the right to justice and truth, while stopping proceedings against those responsible by preventing our representatives and the Revision process before the International Court of Justice.

Victims only seek justice and truth. We ask the other PIC members not only to reject Russia's anti-civilizational attempt to stop the Revision process, but to publicly commit themselves and thereby show that victims have the right to achieve justice and truth through judicial proceedings.

Victims will respect any judgment of the International Court of Justice, and that is why SUPPORT US!
