(Patria) - The Association of Directors of BiH denied the claims of Kenan Magoda, Minister of Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton, about alleged untruths in the directors' letter to the Prime Minister of the Government of the Federation of BiH, but they also welcomed the efforts of his ministry regarding cinematography at the cantonal level.
The Association stated that everything mentioned in their letter is true and easily verifiable.
"The Association of Directors of BiH wishes to deny to the public the claims of the cantonal Minister of Culture and Sports, Mr. Magoda, about 'untruths' in our letter addressed to the federal government. Everything stated in the Association's letter is true, verifiable, and comparable to regional and European practices of subsidizing and organizing cinematographic activities," they emphasized.
They further state that Magoda and the Ministry of Culture and Sports are not the addressees they contacted.
"Our letter concerns the entity level of government where there is a legal possibility to adopt regulations that can regulate and develop cinematographic activities. We welcome the intention of the cantonal Ministry of Culture and Sports regarding increased amounts for film, but this is not the addressee we contacted and which has the authority to resolve the status of Bosnian-Herzegovinian cinematography," they stated.
