KS Employers Association proposed a set of measures to mitigate economic consequences

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Following an extraordinary session of the Sarajevo Canton Government, held on March 17, 2020, attended by representatives of the Sarajevo Canton Employers Association, where representatives of the KS Employers Association expressed concern due to the coronavirus epidemic and the unforeseeable consequences that economic entities in Sarajevo Canton will bear, the Sarajevo Canton Employers Association expresses its full readiness to assist the competent authorities in Sarajevo Canton in finding solutions and adopting urgent measures to reduce the negative effects that will lead to a significant decrease in the liquidity of economic entities and endanger a large number of jobs.

To this end, the Association proposes the following measures:

1. Establishment and ensuring of unimpeded transport of goods, contracting the procurement of basic necessities, and increasing commodity reserves in order to reduce panic in society;
2. Suspension of various taxes and parafiscal charges for the duration of the state of emergency, with the preparation of measures to better distribute this burden after the normalization of the situation;
3. Intervention to help producers of disinfectants increase production;
4. Application of equal measures and standards in overcoming the consequences of the crisis when it comes to the status and income of workers in the public and private sectors during the crisis.
