Employers' Association of FBiH: We are not prepared, government measures will have negative effects on business

The Employers' Association of FBiH reacted to the measures introduced by the Sarajevo Canton Government due to increased pollution, Patria reports.

-As part of the available measures, the Sarajevo Canton Government has temporarily restricted the use of motor vehicles in the area of that canton as of December 25, i.e., introducing a driving system based on the odd-even license plate principle.

The Employers' Association of FBiH believes that the taken measures can realistically harm employers because they will cause a significant reduction in work effects, i.e., a reduction in the overall effects of traffic, goods and services, and fines for legal entities that do not comply with the decision on vehicle traffic based on the odd-even principle will range from 1,000 to 5,000 KM.

Employers were not prepared for the adopted measure because its implementation was defined ad hoc. Therefore, the Employers' Association of FBiH expresses concern under the new circumstances, regarding the difficult arrival of employees to work and return from work, work in the third shift (between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM), the inability to market goods and services at full capacity, and overall reduced profit effectiveness.

Solving this problem, which the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina faces almost every year, requires a serious professional approach, and the newly adopted measures are only a palliative solution.

We particularly react to the fact that the implementation of these measures began on Sunday, December 25, on the day of Christmas celebration, when families traditionally gather and visit religious sites.
