Association "Green art" and Sarajevo students make dagara

As part of the European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) from November 22 to 30, the ecological association „Green art“ from Sarajevo is organizing an interesting project called „Dagara“, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Namely, this association will present the results on November 30, 2014 in Pazarić, and all preparations will be done at the elementary school „Vladislav Skarić“, which has its own kitchen. As stated by the president of „Green art“, Alma Hrasnica, this school always opens its doors to them and implements projects aimed at ecological education and awareness.

- At the school, with about 20 students, we will prepare dagara from previously collected waste from the school kitchen, and students will collect waste at home: bio-waste and old bread. Then on November 30, we go to a farm in Pazarić where we will feed the cows, and the hosts will prepare an eco-lunch: homemade milk, yogurt, cheese, kajmak, and homemade pies – Hrasnica told NAP.

The main goal of the project is to bring children closer to life in the countryside, and that day most of them will see a stable, cow, sheep, and chickens for the first time.

Incidentally, dagara is made from food scraps, fruit and vegetable peels, lettuce and cabbage leaves, roots, and salt, bran, flour, bread are added, and it is poured with hot water.
