Association of Generals of BiH stated: We need a decisive response to current threats to the state, not mutual conflicts

(Patria) - The Association of Generals of BiH sent a message to the politicians of Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially due to the premature election campaign.

"We are witnessing the activities of political parties and their prominent individuals in Bosnia and Herzegovina in a premature election campaign, as never before. We remain taken aback by the extremely brutal conflicts and evident intolerance among them. It is particularly shocking with what energy parties that are or call themselves pro-Bosnian Herzegovinian are clashing with each other. Their statements and declarations are surprisingly immoderate and enter the sphere of personal insults and humiliation. Listening to them, we ask ourselves, do they, in the fierce intensity of personal pre-election showdowns, ever think for a moment about the well-being of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the state itself, which they are supposed to lead from October onwards," they state in the press release.

At a time when destructive political forces directly question the constitutional order, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, mutual conflicts and fragmentation of pro-Bosnian Herzegovinian political forces represent grave irresponsibility that can bring unforeseeable consequences, they further warn.

The Association of Generals of Bosnia and Herzegovina warns that Bosnia and Herzegovina is facing serious and coordinated attempts at political destabilization, both through the open secessionist and anti-Dayton actions of Milorad Dodik (SNSD) and Dragan Čović (HDZ), and through the direct internal fracturing of the patriotic front and the creation of an environment where it is impossible to form a strong and effective pro-Bosnian Herzegovinian coalition.

"We express serious doubt that foreign intelligence and political structures are actively working to sow discord, mistrust, and polarization, with the aim of weakening any form of unity that is necessary for the preservation and progress of the state. Unfortunately, some internal political actors, consciously or unconsciously, are becoming instruments of such processes. The Association of Generals of Bosnia and Herzegovina demands that all political entities of pro-Bosnian Herzegovinian orientation immediately cease mutual conflicts, sit down at a common table, and define a unified, clear, and decisive response to the current threats to the state. This is not and must not be a matter of personal and party interests, but a matter of the survival and prosperity of our state and its citizens.

Dear candidates, never forget that the opportunity to run in the elections was secured for you by honorable patriots who watered every inch of our homeland with their blood, stopping the most brutal aggression on European soil after World War II. History will clearly judge all those who choose divisions instead of joint activities at this moment. Bosnia and Herzegovina was defended by unity. Today, unity must be our goal and priority," they conclude.
