Colibri Association on KS Government's Delayed Payment: Protests on Monday, We'll Make Noise So the Truth is Heard!

(Patria) - The Colibri Association has issued a statement following the information that the Sarajevo Canton Government has paid a tranche for the Association's work, but has also confirmed that protests will be held on Monday, September 29, in front of the KS Government building starting at 10:30 AM, regardless of the payment.

"The KS Government informed the public via its official FB page that they have paid the second tranche for the work of the Colibri Center. This announcement was posted between 5 PM and 6 PM (Friday evening).
Just a day before, someone from the Canton called me to tell me that we wouldn't have the money before mid-October due to "procedural" matters. I truly embrace the digital age and mostly communicate via networks myself, but when it comes to the Government, they require everything from us at Colibri through protocol. Mostly protocol plus email. Often: I haven't received it in the mail, send it again. Today, not even a phone call, but the public is informed on FB.
Not a word about the damage caused, the children, us. Nothing about an apology, because when that money "lands", we'll have to pay Elektroprivreda to turn our electricity back on.

This is the last time we will cease operations and expose our children to such a "breakdown" because all of this would mean until New Year's and then the same thing again.

Therefore, there will be protests. Five Ministries must allocate and plan a budget for the annual continuous work for every child, which is much (incomparably) smaller than the budget for paying their fabricated needs. We will not address the attempt to "throw a bone" and the announcements about the care of those who are in their focus, because it is below any civilized, and especially parental, level.
We have officially reported the protest to the MUP KS, notified the Emergency Medical Services and firefighters, marshals, and all other legal requirements!

It is time for children with AUTISM to stop being discriminated against, and for institutional segregation against them to stop! We can and we will.

Dear parents, fellow citizens, media, all people who want a better society, we will see you on Monday at 10:30 AM in front of the Sarajevo Canton Government building, and we will make noise so that the truth is heard," wrote Aida Hrnjić from the Colibri Association.
