The Management Board of the BH Journalists Association and the Journalists' Helpline express concern over verbal threats made to Admir Aljimi, a journalist for Dnevni avaz, which he was subjected to in front of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina building while waiting for the start of the trial in the case „Turković and others“, reports the Patria news agency.
The threats to journalist Admir Aljimi were made by Šejla Turković, the wife of the accused Zijad Turković, telling him to „watch out“ and that she would „haunt him“. Journalist Aljimi was subjected to similar verbal threats at the end of January at the same location – in front of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina building and on the same occasion – while waiting for the start of the court hearing in the case „Turković and others“.
The Management Board of the BH Journalists Association and the Journalists' Helpline demand that the court police, responsible for the security of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and all visitors, ensure normal working conditions for journalists and take adequate protective measures so that they can freely and without threats follow trials and report on cases of public interest.
At the same time, BH Journalists are asking the court police to investigate this latest case of threats in front of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as previous cases of threats to journalists of Dnevni avaz in front of this judicial institution.
