Victims' associations appeal regarding upcoming local elections in BiH: Refrain from genocide abuse!

(Patria) - The Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide, the Association of the Movement "Mothers of the Srebrenica and Žepa Enclaves", the Association "Žena Podrinja", the Association of Mothers of Srebrenica, and the Association of Women of Srebrenica have issued an appeal regarding the upcoming local elections in BiH.

"We are witnessing daily public denials of the committed genocide and other war crimes in BiH. Facts judicially established are being denied daily from Serbia and Croatia, and through revisionism, a false narrative, different from what the Hague Tribunal established, is being attempted to be implemented into the state system of BiH.

We call on all political entities to refrain from abusing genocide and other war crimes committed in BiH during the upcoming political campaign.

We call on political entities to compete in how and in what way they can help us in prosecuting war criminals, finding mass graves, and protecting victims, regardless of the fact that these are local elections. We issue a special appeal to those who abuse the genocide in Srebrenica and the UN resolution by collecting cheap political points.

We expect all political entities to offer solutions on how they will abolish the curricula in the RS entity, where Radovan Karadžić and Ratko Mladić are presented as heroes, how to resolve the prosecution of hundreds of criminals hidden in Serbia and Croatia, how to stop the BiH judiciary which is acting completely contrary to what was proven in The Hague, and when the first indictments for the siege of Sarajevo, Goražde, Bihać will be filed, i.e., when international law and the legacy of two UN courts will be invoked.

Political campaigns may be an opportunity for free people to express their opinions on the mentioned problems and challenges we face. Anything else is politicization and abuse of genocide and other war crimes in BiH," it was stated.
