Frequent Robberies in Sarajevo, Tourists Targeted by Armed Robbers

Sarajevo police were approached by a man who reported that on Wednesday at 09:15 in Marka Marulića street, an unknown person, threatening him with a pistol, stole a certain amount of money from him, and then fled in an unknown direction, reports Patria agency.

The prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Sarajevo was informed, and police officers are working to shed light on the mentioned criminal offense, identify and find the perpetrator.

The day before, T.V., a citizen of the Czech Republic, approached the official premises of the III Police Directorate and reported that on 08/07/2017 around 21:20 in Ohridska street, Novo Sarajevo municipality, an unknown person committed the criminal offense of robbery against him.

The unknown person, threatening him with a knife, stole a certain amount of money and a mobile phone from him, and then fled in an unknown direction. The police are searching for the robbers.

Otherwise, there is an increased number of police officers on the ground, both in uniform and in plain clothes, given that a large number of tourists and guests are staying in Sarajevo ahead of the start of the 23rd Sarajevo Film Festival.
