Frequent thefts: Thieves increasingly using children as a cover

Thefts in shopping malls, stores, on the street, and in cosmetic markets have become more frequent lately, writes the BiH news agency Patria. However, what was certainly not the case before is that more and more women are stealing, and they are bringing children with them on their "missions".

One such case happened two days ago in the Sarajevo settlement of Dobrinja. Two young women with two children entered a cosmetic market and stole expensive face creams. As the saleswoman told the security guards and the police who arrived a few minutes later, they ran out of the store and got into a car.

- I would never have thought that a mother with a child could do such a thing. First, they looked at the shelves for a long time, asked questions, and then they caused some commotion with the children, stole the creams, and ran away – says the saleswoman, who was in shock.

Surveillance cameras recorded the thieves and the car they escaped in, which was nearby. Cases have also been recorded before where ladies of mature age take advantage of a moment when no one is looking and put products into their bags or shopping bags they often carry with them.

- You wouldn't believe what women are capable of. We used to pay attention to men, but it seems we will have to be very careful when women with children enter. I feel sorry about that, but we compensate for everything that is stolen out of our own pocket – said the saleswoman of a market in the city center where a perfume theft was recently carried out.

Also, thieves use various tricks, such as putting expensive creams into cheaper packaging and paying for them at the checkout much less than their actual price, writes Patria.
