Students from Sarajevo Canton visited Cazin, Velika Kladuša, Bihać, Museum of the 505th Brigade in Bužim

(Patria) - First-year high school students from Sarajevo Canton, who are on a study trip "From War to Peace", yesterday, on the second day of this trip, visited numerous locations in Krajina. The trip was organized with the aim of fostering a culture of remembrance and memory, and getting acquainted with the cultural-historical sights and natural beauties of our homeland.

This study trip is being realized by the Ministry of Education and Upbringing of Sarajevo Canton, and the Institute for the Development of Pre-University Education of Sarajevo Canton is responsible for coordinating the activities. The Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton, Nihad Uk, and the Minister of Education and Upbringing, Naida Hota-Muminović, also joined the students on this trip.

The first location for the students from Sarajevo yesterday was Cazin, specifically Ostrožac Old Town, the most significant cultural-historical monument in the area of the Cazin municipality. It is an intersection of different historical periods, administrations, and cultures of our country. The fortress is located on a dominant elevation above the left bank of the Una River and the settlement of the same name, 12 kilometers from Bihać. On this occasion, the students had the opportunity to explore the complex, which consists of a medieval fortress, fortifications from the Ottoman period, Lothar von Berks' castle, and a sculpture section in the outer part.

Yesterday, the students and the rest of the delegation also visited the Old Town in Velika Kladuša, the most significant historical landmark in the area of the Velika Kladuša municipality, its most dominant structure, and its symbol.

The delegation from Sarajevo received a particularly warm welcome in Bužim, a small municipality in the far northwest of Bosnia and Herzegovina. During the aggression against BiH, from 1992 to 1995, it became synonymous with courage in the defense of the homeland. The brave people of Bužim, led by hero Izet Nanić, made a huge contribution to the defense of Bosanska Krajina, and yesterday the delegation visited the grave of General and hero Izet Nanić, and the museum of the 505th Brigade of Bužim.

The students from Sarajevo concluded yesterday's day with a visit to the city center of Bihać.
