Students from Kakanj donated books, nearly restored destroyed collection

The Maglaj Public Library lost 28,000 books in the May floods, and restoration lasted until August 20 when it reopened its doors to users. Today, this library has been restored, and the book collection is nearly restored, and work is still ongoing on processing the incoming books, said the library director Nina Salkić-Bunjevac, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

- Through various donations, we received about 20,000 books, and people were truly responsive, so we received diverse literature, professional, children's, fiction... We equipped the children's corner and are working even more intensively than before - states Salkić-Bunjevac for NAP.

Today, students from a secondary school in Kakanj, accompanied by Senad Čišija from the Kakanj City Library, visited this library, and each student donated a book.

- A bus full of children arrived, and it was really a nice atmosphere. It is nice to know that there are good people and that donations are still arriving - emphasizes the library director.
