New party formed in Žepče, Ivo Tadić elected as its president

(Patria) - Ivo Tadić, a deputy in the Assembly of the Zenica-Doboj Canton and a delegate in the House of Peoples of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was elected today in Žepče as the first president of the Croatian Democratic Alliance (HDS).

Until the end of last year, Tadić was the president of the Cantonal Committee of the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HDZ BiH), which he decided to leave and form a new, as he pointed out, also the first political entity with its seat in Žepče.

He emphasized that they decided to establish the new party due to developments within the Zenica-Doboj Canton and the municipality of Žepče.

- Our goals are to create a democratic party in which we will have young people with new ideas, new plans, and new goals. We want to cooperate with all Croatian opposition parties. We are currently in power in the Zenica-Doboj Canton and we want to influence all processes, especially within our canton - said Tadić.

According to his words, the HDS will have its candidate for the mayor of the Municipality of Žepče and a list for the Municipal Council, as well as in at least two other municipalities in the Zenica-Doboj Canton. These will likely be Usora and Vareš.

The HDS, he announced, will be a "party of the right-center" and will primarily advocate for Croatian national interests, reports Fena.

The founding of the new party in Žepče, attended by about 450 delegates and guests, was also attended by the leaderships of HDZ 1990, the Croatian People's Party (HNP), the Croatian Peasant Party (HSS), the Knightly Party, and the Čapljina Party.

Zdravko Marošević from Vareš was elected as Tadić's deputy.
