The entire Željezo Polje, except for Biljevina, has electricity, and in this place too, locals are digging holes for poles, so we expect stabilization of the electricity sector there as well, said Šerif Patković, Government Coordinator for the Zenica and Žepče area, in a statement to the BH News Agency Patria.
Since these areas were hit by severe landslides, all new authorities in the FBiH are making enormous efforts to ensure normal living conditions for the approximately 6,000 inhabitants of this place.
Patković says that a good part of the main road through Željezo Polje has also been cleared. They expect additional machinery to arrive tomorrow and for road communication to be established more quickly.
- Workers from Autoceste Federacije BiH and the company "Cengiz" are making superhuman efforts to make the road communication in this place operational as soon as possible. People do not get out of the machines. They eat in the machines while they work. Tomorrow we will bring in even more machinery so that in two days we can have the main route through Željezo Polje operational for communication, at least temporarily - said Patković.
He added that geologists arrived in Željezo Polje today, who will give an opinion on the situation in Željezo Polje and its settlements regarding landslides, and also provide proposals on how to treat this area further.
Patković says that life is slowly returning to Željezo Polje. People are showing solidarity and helping each other. Authorities from Zenica, as well as other levels, are also making great efforts to make things as easy as possible for the people in the affected areas.
- As far as I know, there is enough food for these people - said Patković, writes Patria.
