Institute of Public Health to start seasonal flu immunization on October 28, limited number of vaccines

(Patria) - The Institute of Public Health of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina will start seasonal flu immunization on Monday, October 28, for which a certain quantity of quadrivalent inactivated vaccine has been provided.

Vaccination is free for healthcare workers in the Federation of BiH, as well as for persons over 65 years of age, residents of nursing homes, persons with chronic diseases, especially heart and lung diseases, children with impaired lung function and congenital defects, as well as for pregnant women, the Institute of Public Health of the Federation of BiH announced.

In case a person for whom immunization is recommended due to their health condition cannot be vaccinated, persons from their immediate environment can be vaccinated instead under the same conditions.

All interested persons can be vaccinated every day between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM at the Institute of Public Health of the Federation of BiH, in both organizational units.

Given the limited quantity available, it is advisable to schedule an appointment for vaccination by phone in advance to avoid crowds conducive to the spread of respiratory infections at the Institute of Public Health of the Federation of BiH – Organizational Unit in Mostar - Vukovarska 46 (Health Status Surveillance Clinic, 036/382-106) and at the Institute of Public Health of the Federation of BiH – Organizational Unit in Sarajevo - Titova 9 (Health Status Surveillance Clinic, 033/564-639).

Seasonal flu immunization in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina will last until the vaccine supplies are exhausted, the Institute announced.
