(Patria) - In the Voljevac community, part of the Islamic Community (MIZ) Gornji Vakuf, a hafiz ceremony was held today for sixteen-year-old Nedžma Mašetić, attended by the reisul-ulema of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Husein-ef. Kavazović.
She is the second hafiz from the Voljevac mekteb, having memorized the Quran under the guidance of the community imam, Admir-ef. Malanović. Within the protocol, along with the chief imam Hidajet-ef. Polovina, he welcomed the attendees.
Hafiz Nedžma is currently the youngest hafiz in the Travnik mufti's jurisdiction. Mufti Dr. Ahmed-ef. Adilović emphasized on this occasion that her dedication can serve as a life lesson.
"The fact that Nedžma memorized the Quran during her mekteb education is something that should be highlighted. Her example, and others like her, should be presented as a guide for young people. They show that a young person can dedicate themselves to what is good and achieve great results in that way," said Dr. Adilović.
Attendance at hafiz ceremonies, as Mufti Adilović reminded, can be a form of motivation for daily effort.
"It is not too late for us, on this occasion, to reflect on what more we can do for ourselves, our families, our communities, and our homeland. This is a beautiful moment, but let's not let it be just that. Let it be a motivation for concrete action," urged Mufti Adilović.
The hafiz diploma was presented to the new hafiz by Reisul-ulema Husein-ef. Kavazović, who, reflecting on the fact that the new hafiz is a mekteb student, reminded that students, by attending mekteb, acquire the values and knowledge contained in the Quran and Sunnah.
"The Quran guides us towards what is more correct, just, moral, lasting, and what sets a person on the right path. God's word is our need, what holds us together, and keeps us on the path to salvation in this world. Whoever carries even one verse of the Quran within them will not be abandoned by the Lord," said the reisul-ulema.
He praised the approach to the Quran evident through the mekteb education and madrasa studies.
"As reisul-ulema, I must say that I am very pleased with how our children in mektebs and madrasas approach the Quran. Today's example, where children in mekteb memorize the Quran under the guidance of an imam, is particularly special. This is a special recognition for this imam and community," said Reisul-ulema Kavazović.
In light of today's hafiz ceremony, he advised those present to strive to recognize the talents of their children and students, and to guide them accordingly.
"The hafiz reminded me of the relationship Muslims have with our daughters, our wives, and our mothers. She reminds us and teaches us that we should not only see her as a child who has memorized the Quran. She testifies to what perseverance and sacrifice mean, and together with her efendi, she can be a role model in our lives," emphasized the reisul-ulema.
The Voljevac community is preparing two more hafizes for the Commission, and Hafiz Nedžma continues her education at the Elči Ibrahim-paša Madrasa in Travnik.
