Re-exhumation of remains of 56 previously buried victims begins in Vlasenica

(Patria) - In Vlasenica today, at the Rakita and Zaklopača cemeteries, the re-exhumation of the remains of previously buried victims began, in order to complete their skeletons.

Reassociation or attachment of remains to previously found and identified victims is being carried out for 56 buried individuals, into whose graves the subsequently found remains will be placed. At the same time, in the premises of the Podrinje Identification Project (PIP) in Tuzla today, two victims were identified who were exhumed from the mass graves of Liplje and Kamenica, in the area of Zvornik municipality.

The identity of the victims was determined based on DNA analysis, and today their identity was officially confirmed by their family members.

Identified were: Ismet (Suljo) Mehmedović, born in 1937 in Kamenica, and Sabi t(Salko) Suljić, born in 1974 in the village of Urisići.

They will be buried in the Potočari Memorial Center in July this year, after a collective funeral prayer.
