Race/walk 'Golden Circle' for children with cancer held in Visoko

(Patria) - The association "Heart for Children with Cancer" is also marking Golden September this year – the month of raising awareness about childhood cancer with a series of activities in September.

On the occasion of this golden month, the association "Heart for Children with Cancer", in co-organization with JU "Center for Culture, Sports and Information" Visoko and the City of Visoko, and at the initiative of Afan Habibović from Visoko – our brave fighter who overcame a brain tumor, organized the race/walk "Golden Circle Sparkasse" on 15.09.2024 in Visoko.

Two goals were successfully achieved. The first goal was, above all, to raise awareness about childhood cancer, which we believe was achieved given the very large number of citizens who attended the race/walk. We are grateful that our fellow citizens recognize the importance of supporting marginalized social groups.

The second goal was fundraising, i.e., collecting funds for the medical-health fund through donations for participation t-shirts in the race. Through this fund, we help children in their easiest path to recovery, as well as in rehabilitation after completing treatment.

The race/walk is of a humanitarian nature, and it was supported by numerous athletes, celebrities, business and public entities, as well as individual citizens, who came with one goal, and that is to support children with cancer and their families. The central location of the event was in front of the Altindag Cultural Center.

A big thank you from the heart to our ambassador Amra Džeko, who stood by our children in this project as well, and proved once again that our children and families can rely on her without any hesitation. Great thanks go to the people who made it possible to organize such an event.

Thanks to the volunteers in all aspects of the race/walk, who helped to successfully realize such a large event without problems.

This is not an ordinary Golden September. This is the month when we ran the race of life, when we, as a community, showed our solidarity with children suffering from cancer. A time when we all had the opportunity to show our support.

Most importantly, we all sent a strong message to our little ones together, and that is that they are not alone. That we are here with them all the way to the finish line, which is their recovery. That we are ready to stand by them in the biggest race, the one for life, the Association states.
