2,000 people to break fast together in Visoko

Visoko will once again host the largest communal iftar in the region, reports the BH News Agency Patria (NAP). More than 2,000 people from this city will gather on July 2nd in Alija Izetbegović Street, the main city street, where they will break their fast together.

Visoko is an old Bosnian-Herzegovinian bazaar, where religion has held an important place throughout history. Seven mosques have been built in the city's immediate center alone, some of which are hundreds of years old, such as the Tabačka Mosque in the city center, which has also been declared a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The communal iftar in Visoko has been organized by local authorities for the second year. This year, it will be in cooperation with the municipality of Bayrampaşa from Turkey and the Majlis of the Islamic Community of Visoko.

Representatives of the Bayrampaşa municipality are assisting in the organization of communal iftars under the slogan "Brotherhood Knows No Borders," and they organized the first iftar of this year in Zagreb. The convoy from Bayrampaşa is planned to visit Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Macedonia, Greece, and Bulgaria in addition to BiH, a total of 22 cities, including Visoko, writes Patria.
