Tribute Paid to Genocide Victims in Veljaci and Potocari

The Coordination of Veterans' Organizations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, stemming from the Army of RBiH and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of RBiH, along with the Federal Ministry for Affairs of Veterans and Disabled of the Defensive-Liberation War, has for the tenth consecutive year, on the first Friday of September, organized a visit to the Veljaci cemetery in Bratunac and the Potocari Memorial Center – Srebrenica.

Tribute to the genocide victims was paid by representatives of veterans' organizations, members of the families of fallen soldiers and martyrs, war veterans, demobilized soldiers, and recipients of the highest war recognitions.

Together with comrades and families of martyrs were the Federal Minister for Affairs of Veterans and Disabled of the Defensive-Liberation War Salko Bukvarević, the Vice President of the RS Ramiz Salkić, advisor to the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH Dževad Mahmutović, President of the Union of War Veterans Sead Delić, President of the Organization of Families of Martyrs and Fallen Soldiers Almin Škrijelj, and others. The Mayor of Srebrenica Municipality Ćamil Duraković expressed gratitude to the veterans' organizations and their members who came to Potocari.

- These associations have a sense of belonging to the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The visit to us who live here gives us the strength to persevere in our peacetime struggle for the preservation of Bosnia and Herzegovina – said Duraković.

After visiting the cemetery, a meeting was held on the topic of Support for Sustainable Return in the Podrinje and Srebrenica areas – it was announced from the Federal Ministry for Affairs of Veterans and Disabled of the Defensive-Liberation War.
