Air unhealthy in most Bosnian cities, worst in Banja Luka

(Patria) - The air is unhealthy this morning in several cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the most polluted is in Banja Luka.

Besides Banja Luka, the air is also unhealthy in Bihać, Sarajevo, Zenica, Visoko, and Kakanj, according to the website "Zrak.ekoakcija".

The air quality index in Banja Luka is 200, in Bihać 195, in Sarajevo 185, in Zenica 157, in Visoko 156, and in Kakanj 153.

Due to unhealthy air, increased symptoms and greater intensity of diseases may occur in cardiac patients, as well as those with respiratory organs, such as asthma, while others may begin to feel the negative effects of pollution.

People with lung and heart conditions, pregnant women, children, and the elderly should reduce physical activities outdoors, and everyone else should avoid strenuous exertion.

An air quality index value from zero to 50 is good, from 51 to 100 is moderately polluted, from 101 to 150 is unhealthy for sensitive groups of the population, from 151 to 200 is unhealthy, from 201 to 300 is very unhealthy, and above 300 is dangerous to health.
