Switzerland was surprised by off-season snow accompanied by strong winds and freezing rain, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.
In some parts of the Alps, nearly one meter of snow fell. Temperatures suddenly dropped by about 20 degrees, and the phenomenon, which meteorologists say is not unusual for this time of year, caused numerous problems in traffic as well.
Residents of Basel were surprised by the snow, and many were prevented from going to work, spending the day clearing snow in front of their houses.
Incidentally, a cold front has affected the Alpine region.
